Teens on a Mission!

 photo signature_zps1e656175.png
This girl is driving, and she will soon get her license
(if we can ever find a spare minute to get to the MVA)!

Recently, she and a couple of girlfriends went on a mission trip to rural
West Virginia. Middle daughter spent five days on a hot metal roof.
She came back tired and full of stories, not to mention
possessing mad skills with a power drill!

I'm sure the family was grateful to have a new roof and siding, but
my daughter was the true beneficiary. This experience gave her a new
perspective on people and struggles and getting things done.

"Little" daughter (she is taller than I) spent a week at camp on the Chesapeake Bay.
Next year she will move on up to counselor in training.
Can anyone say free camp?!

I am treasuring every single day with these people.
It was so quiet while they were gone, eerily so, in fact.
Now we are back to chaos and loud music and sister squabbles
and disappearing food and dirty dishes and wet towels, and I wouldn't trade it.
Not. For. Anything.

  1. Time flies so fast when having children. We have 4 boys - well grown men now. They were all 2 years apart. Between all kinds of sports, driving lessons etc it was very hectic. But I look back on it now and remember it fondly.
p.s. not yellow on the outside of the house :-)

    1. Ha! So no yellow? Hmmm. Four boys must've been pretty hectic. Can't imagine what the grocery bill was like!

  2. Beautiful, beautiful girls, Suzanne. They grow up way too fast, don't they?
I often find that in "giving" you get so much more than you receive.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend. xo Diana
