Surviving Sandy

We are hunkered down here. We managed to get dinner cooked and on the table and cleaned up withOUT losing power. I'm on my last load of laundry. Papers are graded. Emails returned (mostly). If the power goes out, I have two full bathtubs and plenty of food and drink and candles. Hubby just built a fire. All is well in our household.

I can't believe I haven't blogged since mid-September. Honestly, I was shocked when I saw that. So here are a few updates from my end. I hope everyone reading this is safe and warm and dry.

We've celebrated three birthdays so far this fall—Scott turned 39 (again); Elsbeth turned 11; Cassie turned 23; Flannery's birthday is in December, and she'll be 13!

My beautiful girls!

Kids did the decorating.

Hmmm…what should I wish for?

Messy kitchen and broken cabinet door.  Hubby fixed it, however! Took weeks to find the right hinge.

Both girls have been reading a great deal. The stack seems to grow larger rather than smaller.

As the storm rages outside, I sit and listen to the sounds of my family upstairs. Time to get off this computer and go snuggle.  xoxo

  1. I took a long break and just came back, too. It is as busy there as it is here. Your girls are all just beautiful. What wonderful family memories you are creating. I hope you stay safe in the storm. xo Diana

  2. Happy to know you are safe. Yes go snuggle with your loved ones!

  3. Such strikingly pretty girls! We seem to be riding out the storm here with little damage. Fingers are crossed! ~ Maureen

  4. So glad to hear from you. Hope you rode out the storm okay.

  5. Glad to hear you and your family are safe and sound. Your girls are all so pretty! Enjoy your snuggles with your family. :-)
